Standard part sizes
This page contains information regarding the standard dimensions of KSP2 parts: diameters, heights, number of cylinder faces, etc. This information is a mix of data from KSP2 base game as well as extrapolated data used in KSP2 Redux.
This page is still WIP and is missing some information, if you have data regarding stock part dimensions or notice an error here, please contact @safarte on Discord.

All numerical values, especially for size categories above XL, are estimates and to be used as guidelines instead of absolute truth.
The “shorthand” of a size category is used to quickly identify a part’s size category in its “internal name”, e.g. engine_1.5v_methalox_bobcat. Vessel part shorthands end with “v” while colony part shorthands end with “c”
Height
Standard Heights
Here is a list of standard heights for stacked KSP2 parts (e.g. fuel tanks). The listed height corresponds to a Stack Size of 1 (see next subsection for more details).
Size Category | Standard Height (1 Stack) |

| 23.4375 cm |

| 48.875 cm |
| 70.3125 cm |

Stack Sizes
Stacked parts come in various heights, in most cases each successive part is double the height of the previous one. This system is formalized through “Stack Sizes” which designate how many times the standard height is the height of the part. Here is a list of standard Stack Sizes:
Shorthand | Stack Size | Reference | Stack Notation |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 |
|
|
| 2 |
|
|
| 4 |

| 8 |

Once again, the “shorthand” is used in the part’s internal name, e.g. fueltank_1.5v_inline_methalox_s3.
Margins & Bevels
Most stacked parts in KSP2 have small beveled margins at the top and at the bottom. These margins do not count for the standardized height of the part, and attachment nodes should sit below those to ensure parts fit smoothly when stacked. See the diagram below for a detailed overview of the main dimensions of a stacked part:
The proportions of the margins have been exaggerated to make the diagram easier to understand.
Below are standard margin and bevel dimensions for KSP2 parts:
